PURPOSE: The purpose of the Friends of the Library (FOL) volunteers is to support library events, activities and fundraisers throughout the year. We hope that each of our volunteers can give their time and talent to help the library throughout the year as they are available to do to.
OPPORTUNITIES: Anyone can volunteer to be a FRIEND of the library! Volunteer opportunities can include but are not limited to set up and running of the annual book sale, event or program set up and help, baking or providing baked goods for an event, helping to organize arts and crafts for an event, holiday decorating and removal, light outdoor upkeep tasks and helping to advertise upcoming programs and events.
REQUIREMENTS: We ask only for your time and talent when you are able to provide it. There is no minimum number of volunteers (and no maximum)! In addition to email communication, FOL meetings will be held as needed to keep in touch regarding upcoming volunteer opportunities.
BENEFITS: Active FRIENDS of the Sally Ploof Hunter Memorial Library will receive a preview of the books at the library’s annual book sale as well as a 50% discount off of the purchase of books from the book sale. FRIENDS will also be among the first to be informed of upcoming library events and programs.
CONTACT: Any questions regarding the Friends of the Library group can be directed to Community Engagement Liaison, Colleen Bowers at cbowers@ncls.org or by calling the library at 315-773-5163.
To become a Friend of the Sally Ploof Hunter Memorial Library, please fill out an FOL application at the library.
