- Need to focus more on fundraising this year
- Over on books in 2023 – went with a new book company instead of Amazon and we will get a discount on books

c. Programming Director’s Report –
- Take Your Child to the Library Day: February 3 – all day (Terry will man the fort)
- Easter Programming: March 23 – 10:00-11:00 @ the Library, Easter Egg Hunt outside (put on by the Legion) afterwards
- Sensory Bunny: March 23 – 2:00 @ the Library – Encompass Rec makes all the arrangements
- Summer Reading Program: Adventure Themed!!! There will be a camp-out at the Library!!! Committee will be formed
- Tug Hill Commission/Nature – collaboration with Evans Mills Library – February 21st @ 10:30
- LEGOs on the 4th – March 4th @ 5:00 – Encompass Recreation – Making GOO bags (Need Volunteers to Help)
- Teen Programs – Teen Magic the Gathering, Teen Dungeons and Dragons – Stewart’s Grant – submitted on 1/30/24 for the grant
- Friends of the Library: How can we get more members so we can have committees and groups to help organize groups?
d. Director’s Report –
- Almost everything has decreased from the year before (won’t see real trends until 2025)
- Decline in check outs may be due to Kindle/”device” reading
III. New Business
- Approval of Job Description for new hire (Clerk)
- Post on the NCLS website, Facebook page, The Workplace
- Approval of Tax Cap
- Our letter says that we are going over the Tax Cap by a certain amount – it gets sent into the school with what we are asking for

- Care Packs/Prescription Disposal Kits/Narcan Station
- Grant from the NCLS for Care Packs – people can come in and ask for a care pack if they need one – no questions asked
- Prescription Disposal Packs – people can come in and ask for a prescription disposal pack if they need it
- Narcan Station is now available at the library if needed (it will be behind the desk)
- Dumpster and Hiring of Temp Help in the Basement
- We will get a Dumpster over April break
- Will need some muscles to help carry up and down the stairs
IV. Old Business
- Solar Eclipse Event
- The park has been reserved for the day for the eclipse party
- Sue Ellen wants Sunny Delight and Moon Pies 😉
- 100 books for the kids
- Glasses have come in
- SciTec Center will be coming with a display – training for a class will be offered for the kids prior to the eclipse
- System Wide Construction Grant Update
- They will cover 74% so we have to pay $100 more
- NCLS has started to install equipment – should have new computers in the library soon!
